The Parliamentary Powers Index (PPI)

The PPI contains information on the power of the national legislature for 158 countries. The index includes 32 items that gauge the legislature’s ability to influence the executive, the legislature’s autonomy from executive control, the legislature's authority in specific areas, and the institutional capacity that it brings to its work. The component indicators are aggregated into a PPI score that measures the overall power of the national legislature. The PPI score ranges from zero to one. The scores represent a snapshot of the current state of the world in 2008.

Diversity, Conflict, and Democracy Dataset

The Diversity, Conflict, and Democracy Dataset contains information on ethnic composition, civil conflict, and political openness for the countries of the post-Communist region, meaning Eastern Europe (including the former Yugoslavia), the former Soviet Union, and Mongolia, from 1991-2004.

International Nuclear Assistance Datasets Soon to be released

The International Nuclear Assistance Datasets contain information about the international transfer of civilian and sensitive nuclear materials and technology. The monadic datasets contain yearly information for all capable nuclear suppliers in the international system from 1951-2000. The dyadic datasets contain yearly information for all capable nuclear suppliers and potential nuclear recipient dyads in the international system over the same time period.
